Who we are
Dr. Seth Mallay was born in Michigan and raised there in a Christian home. He grew up watching his parents work in ministry, and he witnessed their faith first hand as they walked through difficult trials and losses during his youth. Convicted of his sins, Seth placed his trust in Jesus Christ at a young age and was baptized at the age of seven. It was around that time that Seth felt specifically called to medical missions one day.
Rebecca (Lewis) Mallay was raised by missionaries in Brazil, where she was born. She too entrusted her life to Jesus as a young child. Rebecca saw her parents minister to the poor in many ways including in basic first aid. When she saw how useful medical aid could be in missions, she asked the Lord to allow her to one day marry a missionary doctor so that she could support that kind of ministry on the field one day.
Seth and Rebecca married in June of 2006 and have since been blessed with six children (birth dates below): Arwen, Caspian, Elora, Gwynevere, Irene, and Kalmar.
Arwen, the oldest Mallay child, was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma in January 2018. Because of this, it became necessary for the family to return home from the mission field for her treatment. However, no treatment proved effective and Arwen lived her last year in Togo, succumbing to her cancer in February of 2022.
Arwen had placed her trust in Christ Jesus and her faith only grew through her trials. She chose to return to Togo so that her family could continue their work there and so that she could be a testimony for Christ in life and in death.
